What does a Moldovan postal code look like?
"MD-" followed by four digits, for example MD-2012. It goes before the place name: MD-2012, mun. Chișinău.
What do the digits mean?
The first two show the area (20 is Chișinău, 31 is Bălți). The last two usually show the post office that serves the address.
Why does my street have more than one code?
Long streets cross the areas of several post offices, so they are split by house number. Type the street with the number and I will show the exact code.
What is the postal code of Chișinău?
The national list gives MD-2000 for Chișinău as a whole, but each street has its own code, between MD-2001 and MD-2075. For an exact address, use the street code.
Do I need diacritics?
No. Search works without diacritics, in Cyrillic, and in any word order. On an envelope the address is understood without them.
How current is the data?
The Chișinău list is from 2016 and the other lists have no date. Renamed or new streets may be missing. Last site update: 2026-10-17.
Is this an official site?
No. I made it from the lists published by Poșta Moldovei and the Public Services Agency. For anything important, check with the post office.
I found a wrong code or a missing street. What do I do?
At the bottom of every page there is a "Tell me" link. It opens an email with the page already filled in, you just write what is wrong. I fix it by hand and note the source.
