About the site
I made this site because I needed postal codes by street and house number, and the official lists are PDFs and spreadsheets that are hard to read. It is free and unofficial.

The Chișinău list is a publicly shared PDF with no official address I could link to. The date is from the file metadata. Each file's SHA-256 is in the code repository.
What was checked
- I read 3246 street rows. 3187 are used, 136 of them with a note. 59 rows could not be read with confidence and are left out. 12 exact duplicates were merged.
- The 2016 Chișinău list compared with the 2015 guide: 1048 rows identical, 1 with a different code, 23 only in 2016, 32 only in 2015.
- All Chișinău codes are in the MD-20xx range. Town codes were compared with the town's prefix in the national list.
- 26 streets have the same numbers listed under two codes. There I show both and do not pick one.
- 94 rows have names that look Soviet era and may have been renamed. They are marked, not checked.
What I could not check
- Whether the lists are still current. The newest is from 2016.
- Post office addresses. They are not in the data, so I link to the search on posta.md.
- The rule that the last two digits show the post office. The data suggests it, but I did not find it written officially.
- In the town tables, ranges like 1-20 (odd to even). It is unclear whether they mean every number or one parity. I read them as every number and mark them.
- Codru and Stăuceni have a different code in the national list than their streets in the Chișinău list. Both are shown.
Found a mistake?
Email me the street, number, the right code and how you know. I reply and fix it by hand.
